DEREK BROWN

Derek Brown has one of those dream jobs that your high school counselor never tells you about. He drinks for a living. He also travels around the world learning and teaching about great cocktails and spirits and how drinking is such an integral part of our culture and values. While he’s made drinks at the White House, been featured in the Wall Street Journal and drank with Martha Stewart, he’ll tell you that the greatest compliment he’s ever received is when the New York Times wrote that he played a “face-melting solo on the kazoo” at Lambstock. Seriously.

You can read his articles, visit his bars in Washington, D.C. or just join him in his quest for better drinking by enjoying his favorite dram, a good Bourbon.

ANGIE SALAME

In November of 2008, Angie was introduced to Derek Brown while tagging along on a news story covering the D.C. cocktail scene. 18 months later, having fully drank the Derek Brown Kool-Aid, she joined him on his mission to teach the world that drinking matters.

Before forming their partnership, and after a crazy ride in an award-winning tech startup, Angie was a TV Executive at Washington D.C.’s CBS affiliate where she created, planned and executed innovative multimedia campaigns that included television, web, mobile and event components, most notably for the DC Lottery, IKEA, and McDonald’s.

Angie oversees development for Laughing Cocktail.
